What happens when you die?

Yes it will happen to you and me and everyone else. That I can promise, because we have very little control over our own death. So the question is, what do you believe happens when you die. You will finally know the truth. So, I am going to ask you to keep an open mind as you read this article. As you read this you will think this can not be, but keep reading all of this comes from the bible. Just to be clear I am a Christian. All of the biblical quotes will be from the King James Version of the Bible.

“Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”

Arthur Conan Doyle – From his Sherlock Holmes books

You are about to learn what happens when you die, the answer to heaven, and the all popular ever burning hell. I will say this, the truth is a lot different than you think. Few know the real truth. This is because the people that do know the truth. They are usually the ones keeping it from you! That sounds weird I know, but as you will see that is the reality of it. I want to walk you through all of this so you understand everything.

What do you believe?

Let’s start with a question: Pretend for a moment that you lived in the Republic of the Congo near Papua New Guinea area. Chances are as you grew up your entire family believed in Cannibalism. Yes, they still exist and still eat people. I know it sounds gross, but stay with me. I am trying to make a point. You would believe in cannibalism because you grew up hearing it every day. It is simple really, chances are you believe what you believe because you grew up with it. Does that sound reasonable?

So at some point to get to the truth you need to start asking questions. I suppose that is why you are reading this right now. Sometimes you have to man up or women up and decide which is the right answer all by yourself. No one else will help you on this issue. You have to realize the real truth all by yourself. I realize I am hitting this hard, but there is a big reason. That reason is “you have been lied to your entire life”. Yes, you have!

So what does happen when you die?

The bible is God word and it talks a lot about this very subject. But most people do not read the bible. Well at least with any kind of regularity and or granularity. They will quickly go over it and decide, ok I got it. But it really takes time, lots of time to get the answers you want out of the bible. Trust me I have thousands and thousands of hours reading, and studying the Bible. So why am I telling you this, I am preparing you for a real shock.

So let’s start with something easy. In the book 1st Samuel we read about king David. Remember the whole David and Goliath story. Well it was real, David was a very brave young man. He killed a bear and a lion and did not have a gun, like today. They were trying to get to his sheep and he had to protect them. As you may or may not know God loved David.

What does the bible say?

The fact is the bible tells us that God said not once but twice that David was “a man after God’s own heart” That to me is very impressive. I wish God would say that about me. David is the only one in the entire bible that God said that about. Not anyone else, not even the apostles, or even Jesus. Well we know he loved his son dearly. But no other person. The first time was in 1 Sam. 13:14 … a man after his own heart, … and again in the book of Acts 13:22 the Apostle Paul said “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will” Sounds to me like God really did love King David, would you not agree.

So why when David died in 1st Kings 2:10 it tells us “David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.” Yes we get it, king David did die. But notice what it says. David “slept with his fathers”. Notice, it does not say that he was whisked up to heaven to be with God. Remember that King David was a very special man to God. So why does it say basically he died and was buried and nothing else.

Do you think because King David was not perfect he did not go to heaven? It is true David broke at least 5 commandments that I counted and all in the same time period of around 1 year. He fell in love with someone elses wife. OOPS. Sure, God was very upset with David, but still it says nothing about what happened to him after he died other than slept with his father.

But, why?

Let’s look at what David did. For all practical purposes David killed his best friend so he could steal his wife, which he already gotten pregnant. Wow, when he makes a mistake he takes it to the limit. So, no King David was not perfect, neither am I. No one is perfect, well except God the Father. This is according to Jesus Christ himself and Saint Paul. Both let’s read Romans 3:10 “There is none righteous, no, not one” Ok, so then why did king David sleep with his fathers and not go to heaven?

Here is wisdom, if we continue down this path in first kings we find that all these men did die but all slept with their fathers: Solomon 11:43, Rehoboam 14:31, Asa 15:24, Omri 16:28. If we keep going into II Kings: Joram 8:24, Joash 13:13, Jehoash 14:16, Jeroboam 14:29, Hezekiah 20:21, Manasseh 21:18. That’s right all eleven of these men “slept with his fathers”. So none of them have gone to heaven or hell for that matter. None of them did anything other than die. Why would it not say anything about where they went or does it?

What does Hell mean?

Let’s look at the word “hell” for a moment. If you go to Google and type in “how many times is hell in the bible” (I was getting lazy one day and looking for the number) you will get a box (I think they call it a snippet) that says:

“In the King James Bible, the Old Testament term Sheol is translated as “Hell” 31 times, and it is translated as “the grave” 31 times. Sheol is also translated as “the pit” three times. Modern Bible translations typically render Sheol as “the grave”, “the pit”, or “death”.

Google Search: “how many times is hell in the bible”

Oh, so hell just means “the grave”, “the pit”, or “death”. Well no wonder. Heck they all went to hell 🙂 Yes, the word hell just means grave. How strange, so it does not mean what the entire planet was told? You mean to tell me, that hell does not mean “An ever burning place for evil people called hell”. How weird is that? Hell, just means “GRAVE”, that is just crazy, right? To be clear all those men from I kings and II kings did die and were buried. So, then this means everyone who has ever died, all of them are still sitting in their grave or hell if you prefer.

Is a light starting to form above your head in the shape of a bulb yet?

Let’s get this straight

Weren’t we all told our entire lives when you die, if you are a bad person you will go to an ever burning hell? Yes they lied to you and to me! I grew up with the same exact fairy tail. Ok, so here is something really weird. Think on this for a minute; If you stole your best friends wife. Then have them killed so you can keep your her. Oh and you got her pregnant while your friend was fighting in a war before he got killed. Weren’t we always told “Oh, you are going to go straight to hell.Apparently you do, but it’s not an every burning place called hell! It just means grave.

Oh, believe me, when we die, later on we’ll all have some serious explaining to do with God. I do mean all of us, not just some, but all. All will go to the white throne of judgment and face God and account for all of our sins. That my friend is really going to be a moment you want to be able to say I was a good person. As in says in Hebrews 10:31 “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Now that is scary, I don’t care how good you think you are. All of us have sinned, and I mean all of us period.

Come on, really?

Is any part of this concept of heaven and an ever burning hell real at all? Well, heaven is a real place. If you look up it is to the north way up in space. There is an area that seems to be void of stars. That is where God is said to live. But that is called God’s house, not ours. Not yet at least! Oh, there is this little thing called the “lake of fire” but no one survives it at all, you just die permanently. Not even Satan will survive that with all his powers! And he is destined to go take a bath in that lake, he will not be able to get out of that future.

It is simple really. If you want to be with God for eternity, all it takes is a lot of work. Either in this life or the next life. You see that is what the resurrections are for. They are really a second chance for those who need it, which will be most of us. But if we work really hard now to be as perfect as we can in this life. Well, and some other things. Which is why I created this website in the first place. Some will not need the next time. Then there will be a chance to be with God for all of eternity.

Requirements

Let’s just say there are a lot of requirements. For a glimpse at what it takes, look at what the apostles had to go through to make it. They all went through a lot and in the end died a horrible death, all of them with the exception of John. And what Paul had to go through was crazy, he actually died several times during his ministry. But God kept bringing him back to life so Paul could finish his race. When John did die he was an old man. I guess John had to live to write Revelations. Who knows for sure, but God always has a plan.

Heaven is for real

Do you remember that movie called “Heaven is for real”? Yes, I watch movies too. In that movie there is a scene in we’re the church board meets to discuss the heaven issue. One lady on the board said “We just made up that heaven and hell thing to keep people in line” Really! Just to be clear, I do not remember her exact words she used in the movie. But that was the gist of it. I still remember as I was watching and saying to myself, so lots of people know the real truth. Crazy?

So lots of people know this, and it is actually fairly common knowledge today. Why in the heck do they keep things like this a big secret? I also wonder what that actress thought as she rehearsed her lines for the movie. Do you think she even realized what she was saying?

How many know the truth?

I was watching “Glenn Beck” on Youtube not that long ago. He had a discussion going with a small group of people. He said to them “so you guys know you don’t go to heaven when you die” they all said yes. So many people know the truth, well, at least the church elders know and apparently keep it close to their vest. It seems crazy to me, but those same people still keep people “in line“, by lying to them. That is sick, you know, really sick.

The really strange and stupid part is that the truth is actually scarrier that the lie! That whole lake of fire thing, is really scary stuff. So why make up the whole heaven and hell thing in the first place? It makes no sense to me at least.

A straight answer please?

But who could we ask to get a straight answer. I mean from someone everybody trusts. Well, how Jesus Christ himself? Yes, that’s right, he talked about it too!

“And no one has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”

John 3:13 KJV “Bold type is for affect”

So now you heard it from Jesus Christ himself. So who started this lie in the first place? Does the heaven and hell concept comes from the great universal church in Rome as a way to control the masses? Humm… I will let you be the judge of that one for yourself.

God is Love

So let me perform a little experiment. What if heaven and hell was a real thing. I mean the “ever burning hell thing”. Well, just think about these what if scenarios:

  • What if someone though no fault of their own accidentally killed someone, say in a car accident?
  • Or what about the cannibals that are still alive and doing what they have always done. Those poor souls do not know any difference?
  • How about this, have you ever done anything that is questionable in your life?
  • I know I have, lots of questionable things in fact.

So should all of us go to an ever burning hell?

Think of it this way. If anyone did go to an ever burning hell to pay for their sins and for all of eternity. That would make God a actual MONSTER. But, that is not the one true God’s way. God is love, he is our Father I John 4:16 says “And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love;”.

Here is the bottom line, everyone makes mistakes, and yes some people are truly evil. Think of what Hitler did, or Stalin, or Mussolini, or even Charles Manson. Those men did some incredibly horrible things. Will they get a second chance? That is not up to us, it is up to God. I know they will not be punished forever in an ever burning hell. No matter what God decides. God may put them in the lake of fire, I do not know. But at least its a quick death, not painless, but quick.

Where does evil come from?

Have you ever wondered where evil comes from? I did, and I know what you are thinking too. You think I am going to say Satan, right? Wrong, evil come from a place you would never guess. It is a good question though. The bible actually tells us who makes evil?

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Isaiah 45:7 KJV “Bold text for effect”

Wow, would you have ever guessed that the one true God creates evil. Yes, Satan is evil, but God created him too. So there is that. But I wonder if that is what God meant? Or is it possible that God creates evil to test all of us? Will you go to the dark side or stay on the side of light? I do not know which it is, or is it both. We will all know someday for sure exactly what God’s plans were.

Who is qualified?

God and Jesus are the the only ones qualified to judge us. The reason is simple really. God and Jesus are perfection together in a spiritual Godhead. They are perfect, but none of us are. All of those evil people will be judged alongside all of us. That’s right ALL of us will be judged someday together. But not until the time is right and according to God’s clock not ours. Also it is not up to us to judge anyone. We are specifically told not to “judge nothing”. Please pay attention to the word “nothing”

“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”

I Corinthians 4:5 KJV “Bold text for effect”

That sounds simple, we are to judge NOTHING at all. Not people, not political things, nothing. Everyday people judge other people’s actions, but it is not up to us to do that period. So please be careful, I have feelings too and it is so easy to pick a side, right? Well don’t, neither side is right.

Are you convinced about death yet?

Hay, if you still are not there, I get it? You grew up with all that stuff, and it is hard to just switch. But keep reading, you’ll get there. Why does the bible talk about “resurrections” as in plural meaning more than one. I know people have said, and still say actually, the resurrection has already occured. Oh, really, Mr. smarty pants, so which one of the “three resurrections”. Ya sure, there was a small one the day Jesus died, but that was a very special day.

God was really mad, I mean really mad. So maybe, and I am speculating here, his power may have just slipped out a little. God is so powerful, who knows what could happen. Remember the first time he got angry with us and killed everyone except the 9 people on the ark. Ya, like they say don’t tug on superman’s cape! Really do not make God mad at you, you have no idea how powerful he really is, none of us do.

So no that was not one of the three resurrections. Have you ever read the Valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37:1-15 I think it is really exciting, well kinda scary too, but it is still fun to read. The main point of this is the scripture speaks of a huge resurrection of the whole house of Israel. Just think about that statement. That is billions of people! Yes, that is a lot of people.

Just for fun

So lets try it again, the church’s way you know, just for fun. So let’s say all those people were in heaven. What then, God is just going to pull them out of heaven and place them back on earth. Man, all of those people would be really be ticked off, right? Do you see how that just makes no sense whatsoever. And this is going to happen three times, so every person who has ever lived 107 or 108 billion people. There is no way that could happen, period full stop.

Here is the issue. Everyone will believe anything they are told from childhood to adult. Does that sound familiar? The truth is, most never question it. They never bother to read the truth in the bible for themselves. All those people are stuck believing a lie for their entire life. Everyone must do their own due diligence so they know the truth. Do not just believe something because you have been told it your entire life. How would you know, unless you check it out for yourself.

Do not believe me

I am telling do not believe me. Even though I have given you plenty of proof. But go and find more proof. I only gave you a couple of places to start with. Just go and read this for yourself. I know the bible is only 750,000 words and it may take you a minute or two maybe even six thousand hours, but read it anyway. It is worth it, I promise you, it is worth your time and effort. But read it with a childlike mentality though. Be inquisitive, read it without any preconceived notions. This is according to Jesus himself we all must become like little children.

“And said, Verily I say unto you, Except all of you be converted, and become as little children, all of you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 18:3 KJV “Bold text for effect”

Can you see the importance Jesus put on this one point. Children listen and learn faster than adults. They have a lot more brain cells than adults. That is just a fact, I did not mean anything by that statement. I am not saying adults are stupid.

Here is the really funny part? People will say Jesus’s statement proves you go to heaven when you die. Wow, really, again I ask, then what are the three resurrections for if you are already in heaven? Do not be like them, start thinking for yourself. I get it, everyone wants to be with God, and I do too. But not until the time is right. And for me not until I finish my work. I want to help as many people as I can to know the truth of what God told us.

Summing it up

When you die, you do not wake up in heaven or in hell. You just die. Yes God keeps a small part of us. I like to think of it this way. God puts are memories on a shelf for later retrieval, like a giant database in heaven. But people are not there, there is NO memory, NO living on. You just die period. Then later on you will be resurrected, and yes even the evil people. Even those who will end up in the lake of fire, God still resurrects everyone.

When you die, you do not know it: Ecc 9:5 “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten”

When you die, you die, as in nothing happens, no memory, no thinking, no nothing period. Not until you are resurrected will anything happen. Look, no where in the bible does it say you go to heaven when you die period. It does the opposite though. It says you die, period, end of story. God has to resurrect you and me or nothing will ever happen for you or me again ever.

Here is the thing, can you imagine God’s power. Think of those poor people in hiroshima blast, the H Bomb, that we dropped on those unsuspecting people. Those people were atomized, they ceased to exist in a split second. And yet God will resurrect them complete like nothing ever happened to them. Wow what unimaginable power he has. It boggles my mind every time I think of it.

In Closing

God truly does want you and me, everyone to make it. But not everyone will, sorry. Maybe I will not make it. God has extremely high standards and for a huge colossal reason. You can read about that in the article “Why were you born?“.

There is so much more to tell you, and much of it makes this subject look really tiny. It pains me that it takes so much time to write these articles for you. So read the bible and do a real investigation on everything for yourself, it is worth the time and effort.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, it could easily have been 50,000 words and still not cover everything the bible says about this subject. Remember to:

Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

II Timothy 2:15 KJV “Bold text for effect”
