In today’s world, you might be asking yourself why would I ever “Bless those who curse you”? First I am writing this article for the both of us. I need this as much as anyone else. I had to really study this very topic and learn why and how to do this for myself. I found the answer for both of us.

Why would you? “Bless those who curse you”

If you “Bless those who curse you” In essence, you’re asking God to take revenge. Remember “…Vengeance is mine I will repay…” Romans 12:19-20 “…if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”

Yes, that’s right you are asking God to take revenge on that person by blessing them with love and kindness. Just think: even if they are beating you or stoning you, you will win and they will lose! God is truly amazing!

The Caveat to blessing those who curse you

Yes, there is a huge caveat to this.  You must truly be sincere! If you are not sincere God will know. I am not saying that God will heap coals of fire on your head, well? I can not speak for God, but I would not be surprised.

Just remember our life’s goal is to gain life eternal with God, Jesus, and our brothers and sisters. By doing what God asks us to do.  So win the prize by blessing others with love and kindness.

The Perfect Example

The obvious perfect example in every sense of the word “perfect” would be Jesus in Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”.  But I think the best example for us less perfect people, at least the best that I can come up with in a regular human was Stephen.

In the book of Acts 6:5 to 7:60, it’s a long story but a really good one. You really should read it next chance you get. When Stephen was at the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians.  Stephen was trying to teach them but they were not having any of it.

Interjection

I really do feel sorry for those people back then. They did not have a clue of what was really going on around them obviously. I sincerely hope they get their second chance in the resurrections. Because they did their part in fulfilling the bible, our history. They were teaching us what not to do. I also hope everyone now has a clue for the coming future events to unfold; I believe will happen in our lifetime.

Stephen a Righteous Man

In Acts 7:59 “And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 7:60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”

Now when any of us can do that wow. I mean you talk about a truly righteous person. Stephen was deserving of God intervening with some seriously hot coals.  I just cannot read the above story without getting teary-eyed, what a great young man. There are plenty of other examples in the Bible, but Stephen has always stood out to me. That young man was good in every sense of the word. I just pray I can come close to that kind of character someday myself.

I failed miserably

I recently had the chance to prove to God how I can handle being treated badly. Boy did I fail miserably! I got all kinds of upset, and my language was in the gutter too. I really showed God just how stupid I can really be.

I severely needed to revisit this very subject and this time learn it well.  As Paul wrote in Romans 7:24 “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? ” Never forget the wages of sin is death! Not life everlasting which is the goal.

None is righteous

Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” Look, I get it, every day you run into people who cut you off, or cut in line or cut you down. By the end of the day, you are practically bleeding from all those cuts 🙂 We must always “bless those who curse you” if we hope to live with God forever.

I could probably write a 10,000-word article with the various different ways in which our fellow humans will in some fashion be mean or try to get you angry as I did. But all of us must rise above this. Stop, take a breathe, yes, it is hard, really hard sometimes. I know, been there done that, very recently.

The Apostle Paul

The Apostle Paul was a very practical man, I really enjoy reading his epistles. He truly understood this issue and told all of us how to deal with it as you already read. So, you may be wondering why I did not start off quoting Jesus. We will cover that soon.

But first, do you remember when you were a kid and you use to say things like “I’m rubber, you’re glue, whatever you say bounce off me and sticks to you.” That is exactly what we are doing. By letting God seek revenge truly simplifies everything. Paul told us in Romans 12:20 “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” When we let God do as he asked, we honor God’s wishes and save ourselves a lot of pain and suffering today as well as in the future.

I am not saying Jesus had it wrong oh no. I just like the way Paul put it. I can wrap my head around that, it just sounds more like an everyday person to me. So be kind, love, and just let God deal with all those haters, Easy Peasy, right?

The first course of action

So our first course of action is to love them and be kind to them. Let God deal with the haters. God will take care of everything every single time, God can not lie. Just do not expect God to strike someone down with a lightning bolt from heaven. No matter how badly they may deserve it. That is not his style, God takes his time maybe even a lifetime if needed. God always follows up and he never forgets. So always “Bless those who curse you” You will win in the end.

When we treat every single person as if they were a very delicate flower. We are fulfilling our covenant with God. Oh, I know it is hard to do, don’t forget I just went through it. I am writing this probably more for me than you. I want, no I need, God to know, I really get it, I know just how badly I messed up. I severely need to fix my own attitude.

Jesus Covered it

So if by any chance you understand all too well what I am talking about, do not feel alone.

In Matthew 5:43-47, Jesus gives us his point of view: (43) Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. (44) But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

(45) That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven🙁the goal) for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. (46) For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? (47) And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Jesus said it well. The question is, do you treat your family with love and respect? Not everyone does today. In fact, I think this generation is the worst in history. I could be wrong, maybe we have always been this cruel to each other. It is wrong and all of us know it. I know your getting tired of hearing it but we must “Bless those who curse you”

No Work No Food

The key is to try to see the other side. I know that is not always easy either. Just look at what they are trying to do right now in the World Economic Forum. They want it to become a one-world government. If it were God’s coming Government I would be in favor of it. But not when the man is in control of it. When I say the man I actually mean Satan. Satan is in so much control today that it is truly scary.

But even now I tried to see it their way. We would own nothing and we would be happy? Okay, so how exactly would we be happy?  Also, they want to give everyone a monthly check and sit back and let the government take care of everything.  That is not the way God sees it. In II Thessalonians 3:10. “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”

God is in charge

So God says if you do not work you do not eat! So why should we listen to them, when they directly contradict what we were all taught by God. God comes first always it is the first commandment.

Okay, so I got off the topic slightly, but it is a good point nonetheless. If we could treat each other as God has instructed us then this world would be a paradise, right? When we all learn how to “Bless those who curse you”, it will become a true paradise.

Doing our Part

So each of us must do our part to start right now to treat each other with nothing but love and respect, even those leaders who we were just talking about. We can not get caught up in all the latest gossip on these leaders either.

God does not like gossip it is a waste of time and energy. It also leads us to treat others the opposite of the way we should be treating them. So as it says in Luke 6:28 “Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.” I know that this article topic is going to become more and more important in the coming years.

Wages of sin

All of us must follow these words of wisdom from our creator. It is vital that we rise to the top, show others that we can take it, and not fall victim to our own anger. Always strive to be better tomorrow than you were today. Study your bible, read daily to gain the power to overcome your own emotions. Jesus gave us inspiration that it can be done. Jesus did not sin once. And we all know Romans 6:24 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Let none of us lose sight of the goal of eternal life. This life is nothing more than a giant test to see who is worthy and who is not. Will I pass this test, will you pass this test?

Satan the god of this world

II Corn 4:4 “In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Look, I get it, I get caught up in life just like you do. No one ever said that life was easy. They would be a liar if they said that, it is hard. Fun sometimes but hard nonetheless. Satan is on each of us like white on rice, when we try to do good all the time. He pushes and pushes until he sees a crack armor I speak of the whole armor of God in Eph 6. Once he sees that crack he will put a wedge into it and spread it open as far as he can.

Satan never gets tired, he is never weak, he does not sleep, he never stops calling us on the stupid phone:)  It is like trying to go up against Godzilla or king kong. We will lose if we do not have God’s support. God will help those who try to do good. All any of us can do is try, we will not succeed but we may be able to get close.

Other examples In the Bible

The closer to perfection in God’s eyes the more he will help us. Look at Job, he was a righteous man and failed in his own eyes. How far away are we from that? Look at Daniel, or Noah, the truth is everyone in the Bible failed at some point, even Abraham lied. King David killed his best friend so he could steal his wife. David lied a lot and committed adultery. And God said he was a man of his own heart twice! Obviously, that was before David did all those horrible things, but still.

If these great men and they were great men. But if they failed, what chance do we have of going up against Satan? Sometimes I wonder why God even called me in the first place. I seem to fail over and over again, but I keep getting back up and start again.

And maybe that is the point to tall of this. Does God want to know if we will give up? I for one never give up, I hate the word quit! I am not the best at anything, but I try and do my best at everything.

In Closing

How about you, when was the last time you failed and got upset and then let them know? Let me know in the comments. I am curious, or is it just me? So if I can get to the point when I can “Bless those who curse you” and do it every single day.  Let’s just say I am a work in progress.

I really hope this helps you in at least some small way to move forward to a better life with less friction and more love and kindness towards your fellow man or woman. Which reminds me of all this woke stuff.  It frustrates me to no end.

There are two genders man and woman period. Have you ever heard of anyone being born and someone saying oh that is not a boy or a girl? Yes, I know the Bible has homosexuals in it, but they are not shown in the best light. That is all I will say about that. We have to bless everyone no matter who they are always.

Okay, so please comment on this and let me know how you are doing. Ask questions, give me a clue as to how I can best serve YOU! After all, that is why this site exists. Have you checked out our Facebook Page yet? How about our Pinterest page?

I pray God will help you to bless others with love and kindness.

Have a blessed day
