How to study your Bible and prove to God you care. This is really important especially if you really do want eternal life with God. Think about it, God knows everything and if you want to spend all of eternity with him would it not be a good idea to learn about him?

Really it is important. In II Timothy 2:15 Paul told Timothy (yes my namesake) “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Do you really think Paul of all people would say this if it was not only true but really important. Sorry about all the “really’s”. It has been a long day. In fact, they seem to be getting longer every day…

So, I suggest you start every day with some kind of study. It can be a sermon, a chapter, a study, anything you want. In fact some of my best days of study I let God point to what he wants me to study.

Ya, you think I am crazy, but I am not and it works. Just hold your bible in front of you and let it open naturally. Oh, you have to ask God to show you first what he wants you to study. The Bible will open where God wants and you just start reading. It really is that simple.

Try it and you will see that God will point you in the right direction every time. I even find God helping me find where I am going for a sermon etc. I will flip through the Bible and more times than not it will open exactly where I need to be for that sermon. Sometimes it gets kinda spooky!
