Is God answering your Prayers?

If God is not answering your Prayers why not? It may surprise you to hear, but if you pray to anyone other than God the father through Jesus nothing will ever happen. Jesus told us how and who to pray to in Matthew 6:9 “After this manner therefore pray all of you: Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name.” Notice: Jesus said ALL OF YOU and OUR FATHER as in GOD. Jesus did not mention anyone else including himself! But is that all there is to it?

No, there is a lot to this whole thing called prayer. But first, why would you ever disobey Jesus or God and pray to anyone else period. Any time you pray to anyone else you are disobeying. So never listen to anyone who tells you anything differently than what Jesus told us.

If you have not read “What Happens when you die?” you really should read that first.

Prayers and how God feelings

Ok, let me start with an example most people can relate to. Pretend you’re a 16 year old. You want to go up town with your friends and get a meal and watch a movie. But you need some money to do that.  So you go to your Mother and ask her to tell Dad I need some money to go up town. How does your Dad feel? Why did you not come to him to ask for the money? Your Dad and God both have feelings. Both would be hurt by the fact you did not come to them.

It really is unfortunate that the churches of today do not teach people how to pray correctly. They tell you to pray to all kinds of different dead people? For example Saint this and Saint that?  Since none of those people are God, and they did not have anything to do with your creation.  Why would you pray to them? Especially since all of them are laying in their grave with their fathers. None of them are in heaven. But even if they were why would you pray to anyone other than God.

INSULTING GOD

If you are not praying to God, the all your are doing is INSULTING GOD. Is that what you want? God will not answer those prayers. You are WASTING YOUR TIME. Just think about it, why would God answer anyone’s prayer if they prayed to someone else? Pretend you are God, would you answer their prayers? None of this is not rocket science, it is actually really easy.

Having said that, do you remember who is in charge down here on earth. As it tells us in II Corinthians 4:4 “In whom the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of them which believe not,” So many people today follow the wrong path. The path that leads to their destruction. Jesus told us this in Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter all of you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.” God is not answering your prayers, because you are not praying to him!

God answering prayers is earned

Yes, God still answers prayers today, really! But it takes a lot more than just who to pray to. If you want God to actually answer your prayers, then maybe you should do what God asks you to do. What do you think? Seriously, why should God answer your prayers if you do not do what he told all of us to do.

Do you have respect for God? Think of this, when someone comes to you and asks for a favor.  If that person hates you, do you help them? Or how about that person who never listens to your advice. How about that person that has not even talked to you in a year? What if that person has hurt your family in some way? Do you see where I am going with all of this?

Proverbs 20:11 “Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.”  There is a lot of logic in that one simple sentence. If you do not try why would God help you. If you are rude to everyone and call everyone a racist. What about all those so called “Peaceful Riots”?  God never condones that kind of violence. It does not matter if you use your mouth or your hands to hurt people God hates all that. Want proof, in Proverbs 8:13 “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil” Are you or can you say you are a God fearing person? God wants us to treat each other as you want to be treated.  It seems many people have forgotten that today.

God’s truth

If you want God answering your prayers, you need to do your part. What do I mean by that?

Do you always obey God? Let’s put that to the test. Can you say you do all of the following?

  • 10 Commandments or 11 laws? (do you know them by heart?)
  • Laws on food to eat? (Do you eat pork, shellfish etc.)
  • Tithing (10th of your earnings to God)
  • God’s holy days (Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles)

Should I keep going?

I think you get the picture. Are you at least familiar with all of these things on this very short list? How about the food list. Do you think you can eat anything you want? I am well aware people say in Acts 10 it supposedly says you can eat anything. But that is not what it says. If they would just keep reading to Acts 10:28 they would find out God was talking about PEOPLE not animals. Acts 10:28 “I should not call any man common or unclean” God just used the animals as an example.

I go over this in some detail in “How do you study the bible?” Because it is a perfect example of people not knowing what they are talking about. They seem to stop reading when they want the bible to say what they want! The bible never contradicts itself ever. That would definitely be a contradiction if it were true, but it is not.

Holy Days

How about the holy days? Do you see Christmas or Easter on that list? No, weird, right? No and you never see them on this site ever unless it is for an example of what not to do. But people still celebrate those things instead of what God told us to do. Let me give you a simple example. In Leviticus God talks about “Passover” week long “Unleavened Bread” Lev 23:14 at the end it says “…it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings”

So God told us to do this FOREVER in all our GENERATIONS. Gee that sounds kind of like we are to keep doing this FOREVER as in never stops. So why does not every church teach this? Because then they would have to do what God told them to do. Really it is that simple, but why? Because man thinks his laws are more important than God’s laws.

Do you serve God?

So why did Jesus tell us in Matthew 15:9 “ in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” We are all sinners. But if you love God and do as he asks he rewards those people. Man seems to think that money is more important, among other things. But in Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” God truly does answer prayers when anyone loves him and tries to do what God asks of us. I include myself in this, I am not perfect in any way.  I mess up every day just like everyone else does. We are all sinners. But we can all try our best to please and love God.

When you please and love God he is really good at answering your prayers. God has answered many of my prayers, and still does. Sure I do not please him every day. Yes I am a sinner. I know that he knows that, but yet he knows I try and obey and love him. Look at this website, I do this full time now. Does that sound like someone who doesn’t love God? Love goes a long way with God. God is love 1 John 4:8. “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

God, I want 10 million dollars

Is that really something that you would pray for?  God is not a Genie in a bottle. But I will say this, if God thought that 10 million dollars would be good for you, he would give it to you. So what if you did all of those things on the list, would God give you a million dollars?

Well, here is the thing. If you really do what God asks of you, the you would not even ask for 10 million dollars in the first place. God provides everything we need. Anything more is called greedy. Paul told us in Romans 12:1 “I plead to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that all of you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

We do not need that kind of money to be happy. Ya, sure I would love to have a lot of money, but not at the cost I have seen. Jesus told us in Mark 10:25 “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Most rich people are not happy and not my kind of people, no disrespect intended. Sure there are exceptions maybe hundreds or even thousands, and I do know one of them. He is a really good person and cares deeply about others. And he loves God. So yes it can happen, but you really have to be an exceptional person. Not everyone can handle it. Money changes some people and not for the better.

We are all Sinners

Look, I am always totally honest. Even I find it hard to do everything God asks just automatically. I did not grow up knowing everything I now know.  It has been really hard to change some things. For example cussing. When I fell down the stairs last week, I was not proud of what came out of my mouth. After the pain started to suside, I was really embarrassed at what came out of my mouth. Yes it hurt really bad at the time but that is no excuse. So, you see we are all sinners.

Praying for God’s guidance can really help.  God will help anyone who sincerely is trying to change and become closer to God. We must all try every day to be better than the day before. Sure it is a lot easier to say that than to actually do it. However we must all try. Let me give you an example of what I mean. In Matthew 25:14-30 Jesus tells us a story about talents. The way he tells it makes it sound like money, that way he gets everyone’s attention.

But the moral of the story is actually talking about our talents and our ability to acquire more talents while we go through life. It does work for money, but do you really think Jesus was telling people to be rich? Honestly sometimes I think people like making things hard, when it usually is a lot easier to just believe what God tells us. Just like God answering our prayers.

Conclusion

So I hope you got a clearer picture on how to get God answering your prayers. It’s funny when I looked up this idea on the internet I was shocked. People were dancing around the issue. They were trying to say God will answer but in his way etc. No one seems to know the simple truth of the matter. You do what God wants and he gives you what you want. It really is simple, you ask, and God provides the end!
